Buttermilk Recipe

Buttermilk Recipe

The slight amount of acidity in buttermilk breaks down the tough strands of gluten from the flour, allowing the baked goods to stay tender and moist. I don’t often use buttermilk which is why I don’t keep it in my pantry, which is why this recipe is perfect for the occasions when I need buttermilk but don’t want to buy an entire jug. This only requires two simple ingredients, both of which you are bound to already own.

How To Make Buttermilk

Makes one cup of buttermilk

Ingredients:

-1 cup milk (non dairy milk works as well)

-1 tablespoons apple cider vinegar/white vinegar/lemon juice

Instructions:

1. In a bowl or cup, add the ingredients and mix together. Allow to sit for a few minutes.

2. The mixture will be slightly curdled, allowing the milk to taste and have the same texture of buttermilk
