Sugar Substitues in Recipes

If you’re ever concerned about the amount of sugar in a recipe but you still want to make it, you can use some of these replacements! These are some of the more common sugar substitutes that you’d find in baked good recipes, and they work wonderfully as healthy sweeteners

Coconut Sugar

Coconut sugar is a far healthier alternative to both granulated and brown sugar. Replace the amount of sugar with coconut sugar in a 1:1 ratio.

Honey

Honey is an easy and yummy natural replacement which can be used as a sweetener in any recipe. For every cup of sugar needed, use 1/2 a cup of honey

Molasses

Molasses are a thick, dark syrup that is made from sugarcane. For every cup of sugar, add one cup of molasses but reduce the quantity of other liquids by 1/4 cup

Maple syrup

Natural maple syrup is an excellent way to replace sugar in a recipe. For every cup of sugar, use 3/4 cups natural maple syrup.
